  2. Disk No 667   The Writer's Toolkit                                  v1 DS2

  4. The Writer's Toolkit is a collection of 20 executable utility programs
  5. inspired by Kernighan and Pike's Software Tools. Most of the utilities are
  6. filters that process text files. These utilities include: converting lower
  7. case to upper case and upper case to lower case, encrypting and decrypting
  8. files etc. Each utility has a well written and concise documentation file.
  9. The doc files give examples for each utility.

  11. The most interesting program is MEMO. This program will display memos that
  12. have the same date as the system date. CALENDAR displays the calendar for
  13. any given month. You will need to have a CONFIG.SYS file that has the
  14. command "DEVICE=ANSI.SYS" in it in order for the calendar to be displayed
  15. correctly. CALENDAR works for dates between 1901 and 1989.

  17. The Writer's Toolkit is user-supported with a $15.95 registration
  18. contribution requested to support further development of the software.

  28. DETAB    EXE  Converts tabs into spaces.  From Software Tools.
  29. DUP      EXE  Duplicate line filter.
  30. ENCRYPT  EXE  Encryption program from Software Tools.
  31. ENTAB    EXE  Converts 8 spaces into a tab char.  From Software Tools.
  32. FREQ     EXE  Word frequency counter.  Must use words and sort first.
  33. LL-CLCL  EXE  Carriage return filter.
  34. LOWCASE  EXE  Lowercase filter.  Converts upper case to lower case.
  35. MEMO     EXE  Display memos that have the system date.
  36. NL       EXE  Line numbering filter.
  37. RS       EXE  Removes whitespace at ends of lines.
  38. SLEEP    EXE  Pauses for given number of seconds.
  39. TEE      EXE  UNIX tee filter.
  40. WHITE    EXE  Whitespace counting filter.
  41. WORDS    EXE  Unix words filter.
